Talha was working in his office when his boss suddenly walked in and told him he was being fired. This sudden news left him confused and worried. He started thinking about his kids’ and wife’s survival without the job. At that moment, he remembered the Quran verses: “Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me.” [26:62], “And whoever has tawakkul in Allah, He is sufficient for them.” [65:3].
The emotion of Tawakkul means having complete trust, dependence, and reliance on Allah SWT. Its psychology is the belief that: I don't see the solution, I don't know what's going to happen, but I do know one thing for sure—that whatever comes to me is from Allah SWT and is for my own good.
There is no human being who does not need Tawakkul; even atheists need it. Since we know the design of this planet, which is constant throughout the world, people are going to go through ups and downs.
These could be really bad for some and not so bad for others. There is no one who is going to be totally and internally satisfied with the planet.
Whatever you plan, there will always be external factors and unseen events that will change your plan. There is no human being on this planet who made a plan and didn’t have to change it.
Once we understand this, a Muslim comes into a settlement that whatever is coming to me is from the Maker and the All Knowing. It doesn’t really matter whether I am going to be successful or not—what matters is that I am truly relying on the power that is the changer of all plans and the maker of all success. This psychology makes the believer anxiety-free and never lets him panic or go into trauma. Tawakkul is the only absolute superior psychology.
