The Next Big Thing
Amid paranoid criticism and optimistic reception, the newly signed SDMA could be the next big thing for nuclear-capable Pakistan and a major GCC country, KSA, something that both nations are eager for and ready to invest in: a sustainable peace where their respective nations can prosper and work together.
Critics are foreseeing "Article 5" style defense coalition between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan either as an overpromised political move, or a threat to the rival nations, and to the status quo in the Middle East, since it can encourage other defense contracts outside a shrinking US security umbrella, helping to evolve a multipolar world with Cold War-like scenarios. Others consider it a logical consequence of America's failure to protect its allies, a natural deterrent against Israel’s ongoing crimes. These conflicting narratives are stemming from ongoing power struggle, genocide and aggression in the region.
Pakistani military’s capabilities are strategic, resilient and war-hardened, experienced in both civil and military settings to neutralize all types of challenges from weather calamities to terrorist insurgencies to surprise foreign attacks. The resource-rich KSA is looking forward to leading the region with its futuristic vision of social & economic progress. And more Islamic countries are expected to join in and create a bloc to ensure the safety of Palestine and the overall security of the region. Maintaining peace should not be a challenge there.
However, there are countries whose way of life is dependent on selling arms and stealing resources through complex contracts from developing countries. During an enduring peace, arms cannot be sold. We need paranoia and false flag operations for that. Unfortunately, the most populous areas of the world have become the most vulnerable ones. In these cradles of civilization, casualties are not in tens or hundreds but in thousands and millions after heartless bombings and compromised veto votes of arm-selling security providers. On the contrary, Pakistan fully believes in the principles of peace diplomacy. Their military is trained to deter, mitigate and limit the spread of the threat without sacrificing the bigger objective of human safety and security. They are ready to die to keep their people thriving and prospering.
With Pakistan as the key player in the region's defense strategy, Peace will be the new normal for billions of people. Afterwards, it will be only a matter of time before everyone can claim a right to life and liberty in the comfort of their home countries rather than seeking it in rich foreign lands. We cannot predict the next big thing with ultimate precision and accuracy. Instead, we plan, strategize and move forward with persistent efforts to add value and aspire for excellence, leaving the culmination & results to the will of our Creator. SDMA is paving the way towards that culmination.
