O Al-Quds!
Land, where the light of Prophets once walked,
Now your streets whisper in blood _ unheard, unchalked.
Each stone holds the echo of a shattered plea,
And dreams lie buried where graves used to be
Your sky is cracked; even stars seem shy,
And childrens’ sobs break, the bones of the nights cry.
Where Mosque rises tall, clings to the sky,
But hearts bleed quietly _ with strength so high.
In silence, O Quds,
Your earth weeps _ but no one bothers the sound
And yet, hearts rise, as tears fall down
The winds may scream, and the environs grow cold
But your soul stands firm _ quiet, fierce, bold.
Your children don't flinch, though the pain is intense
Paradise guards you - with every strain, ready for defence
Through every tear that sheds and every struggle you fight,
O Al-Quds! your dawn still breaks through the night
and Ummah?
Are you blind to the blood that stains the sky?
While you feast, your brothers die
They fight with their hands, with their hearts, with their tears,
While you sit in comfort, numbed by your fears
The earth beneath them cracks, the sky falls apart,
But you offer silence instead of a heart
Are you deaf to the screams in the air?
Can’t you hear their cries, their despair?
How will you face Allah on the Day of Judgment’s rise?
When they will ask about your SO-CALLED fair, with piercing eyes
When your inaction will be written before you
Just think, imagine, that shame once _ so true
How will you stand when the pages unfold,
And the weight of your silence turns your heart cold?
