SMDA might turn into Muslim NATO

17th September, 2025, is a date that will be remembered in times to come.

This date marks a very important development in Pak-KSA relations, first of all, and a significant leap in the Muslim Ummah as a whole and Middle East specially. As on this very date, Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement (SMDA) was signed between Pakistan and KSA at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh.

Although, full document of SMDA is not disclosed, it clearly states that, “any aggression against either country shall be considered an aggression against both.”

This provides Pakistan’s military support to KSA in case of defence and Pakistan will similarly gain benefits of Saudi Petrodollar economy.

But SMDA signifies something even more important.

SMDA can have a snowball effect leading ultimately to Muslim NATO formation.

And once that happens, it can open the road to prosperity, peace, wealth and security to all members of the alliance, just like how NATO members are benefitting from NATO alliance.

The changing political landscape and the uncontrollable Israeli threat will likely push more Gulf States to make SMDA like agreements with Pakistan.

So, let’s hope for a better future of Muslim Ummah. May we unite. May we stand strong.
