In today's world everyone seems unfocused. No one is able to take pressure and want to face the difficult situation. When someone has to fulfill even the smallest duty like writing assignment or cooking meal or cleaning the house he take this as pressure and think it as a bigger task and he opens facebook or Instagram or YouTube or TikTok and start getting distracted, spend all the time in scrolling and watching reels, the real tasks remains unfinished and he get the dopamine from watching the reels instead of getting it from the real tasks.
This is a different topic that how scrolling affects the efficiency of the humans, they have become lazy, lethargic and unproductive because of excessive screen time. Here we are discussing the mental and emotional aspect of scrolling. People want to escape from the reality they think if they indulge in other people's lives on social media they are taking a break from their own lives but in reality they are increasing stress in many ways:
1- They start to compare their lives from others lives.
2-They become ungrateful for the things they realize others have and they don't.
3- They have somewhere in mind a regret about not completing their own tasks.
4- They experience dozens of emotions at a time which causes emotional fatigue.
When you consume too much information or emotional content your brain protects you by numbing your emotions so you instead of becoming emotionally intelligent becomes emotionally dumb and you become irritable and restless mentally where you can't stop thinking or comparing yourself which causes your sleep quality poor and your physical and mental both drop.
The solution is simple you have to become mindful of what you are doing, invest time in nature, with humans and books. It doesn't mean you have to completely stop using social media. Scrolling is not always bad it can inspire creativity or motivation and connect you to supportive communities but you should limit your time and should watch wisely that what are you watching. The key is self control.
