An emotionally damaged person can erode the very foundation on which personal growth relies, both for themselves and for the people attached to them.
Initially, emotionally damaged people are often too naive to handle life's difficulties. But life is hard regardless of their naivety, and when they are faced with difficult situations that they are incapable of handling, which happens quite often, they eventually become bitter. And because of that bitterness, their relationships begin to suffer; they become selfish, self-centered, and close-minded. They start playing the victim and constantly complain about everything.
If it’s someone from your parents, every definition they give you about anything will reflect how everyone is so mean and why you should never trust anyone, how you should just mind your own business and stay in your own shell, instead of making you capable of dealing with the difficult and different situations of life.
If it’s someone’s boss and they’re not emotionally well-regulated, it causes 3 main kinds of damage.
1. First to themselves: people start leaving their company.
2. Second for the employees: they start subjugating their own dependents the way they’re being subjugated by their boss. And the chain keeps going, because it’s in our nature to come under the influence of power.
3. And thirdly in general: it gets locked in people’s minds like a law, that being selfish is the only right way to live.
Being emotionally damaged isn’t even in favor of the person themselves. In every aspect of life, an emotionally damaged person causes harm. That too, on the very foundation things are built on.
