Almost every woman living in desi culture has faced sexual assault at some point in her life because we live in a society of animals. The question arises: why do most girls not confront their abusers when they are sexually assaulted?
They are suddenly in the spotlight, and they feel vulnerable. They feel embarrassed and weak. The animal has made them helpless.
What to do in this situation?
First, accept the fact that you are feeling vulnerable and helpless. Cortisol, the chemical of fear, is flowing in your body. You have to remind yourself that courage is your moral duty now, and you must either slap him or ask for help. You must face your fear. Otherwise, this animal will attack someone else in the future. This mindset will trigger your anger, and your nervousness will disappear.
Sexual abuse is common because that one slap is not very common. Even the public is on your side if it happens in a public place. People will run to help you—but you have to take the first step.
Death may be acceptable, but this is not acceptable.
