Emotional Intelligence and the Signs
As previously discussed, EI in simple terms is 'Awareness' or just 'Being aware'.
We see it all around us, we can feel it and sense that something huge is about to happen. The world is changing, time is running and people are caught up in this materialistic world and yet still chasing after it.
Our Prophet (PBUH) said," This world is a prison for the believer and a paradise for the unbeliever."
We all see it, people running and chasing all these worldly pleasures and luxuries and yet still not satisfied. Do they not see? Do they not read? Do they not feel that something isn't right?
Being emotionally intelligent in cases like these is so important because when you are 'Aware', the Hadith mentioned above becomes completely clear.
1) For a 'believer' this world is a 'Prison'.
2) For an 'unbeliever' this world is a 'Paradise'.
Allah has prepared for those who 'Believe', a Paradise, our 'Final Destination', so why get caught up in this "Illusionary World?"
The Quran mentions in Surah Al-Ankabut(29:64), " This worldly life is no more than play and amusement. But the Hereafter is indeed the real life, if only they knew."
Now ask yourself the following questions.
1. How well aware am I?
2. Do I see the signs?
3. Do I feel caught up in this"Luxurious world?"
4. Am I struggling to keep up with 'What's in' or 'What's out?'
5. Who am I mostly surrounded with?
And lastly
6. Who am I trying to please? The 'People of this world' or the 'Creater of this world?'
