Understanding our fellow human beings
Human beings are called social animals for a reason. It is inevitable for us to interact with our fellow humans on a daily basis. Starting from inside our homes, schools, universities, offices, to everywhere we go in our lives involves interaction with other people. Each of us is dependant on the other for our own survival and progress, but these everyday interactions can become real hard sometimes as people have different attitudes.
Ever-felt like people don’t live up to your expectations or they don’t act the way to want them to? My boss is always angry. My friend is too catastrophic. He is too indecisive or she argues a lot. He is always talks negative. She is never on time. Seems familiar right? We keep judging the people around us all the time but what if we take a step to understand the reason behind their attitudes? What if they are not lazy or cruel or bad people? What if they are just different? That’s what we are going to see here today, we are going to study the “Big five personality types” to understand the different behavioral patterns and start empathizing with the people around us.
The five different personality types are as follow:
1. Openness:
People with the trait of Openness are the most imaginative you will come across and at the same time very intellectual. They are very sensitive and experience feelings at an intense level. They are highly empathetic and open to new experiences. They are very curious and love exploring new things.
2. Extroversion:
People with this trait are outgoing and have high energy levels. They are talkative, friendly, cheerful. They are the first one to crack jokes or start a conversation in a gathering. They love crowds.
3. Neuroticism:
Neurotic people have a tendency to experience negative feelings from any given situation. They are extremely self-conscious. They keep their things arranged and don’t like chaos. The are emotionally intense and have a certain sense of anxiety.
4. Conscientiousness:
People with this trait are conscious and deliberate. They always do their homework and make a plan for everything. They are very orderly and self-sustained.
5: Agreeble:

Each of these personalities have their own pros and cons. Our motive is to understand these differences, accept other people and start adjusting to their behavioral patterns instead of judging them for being who they are.
