Learning to pick up your own personal biases is a very important skill that is needed for you to logically be able to understand people and situations and come to valid conclusions instead of assumptions. Biases are huge problem causing all of us to instantly just sum up people and situation and problems to simple short term groups instead of actually learning the hard facts and actual reasons and understand these problems, which is shown in emotional intelligence. Without having a proper base in understanding when your being biased towards someone or actually logically thinking and analyzing them you can see the difference in reasoning for example you see someone and they’re a certain race that you’ve heard about on the news, which your instantly biased about causing you to group them with everyone and view them differently even though this person most likely is completely different and sophisticated but due to your bias you instantly label them and that’s the end of that. But if you are actually going unbiased and try to understand this person more you will see how different this person is. Biases can ruin your world view and view of everything in your life, it is a must have skill to be able to understand when your being biased.
