The agony is at its peak. The chaos unfolding across the world is nerve-wracking. After the fall and powerlessness of the Palestinians, Muslim leaders now find themselves in a struggle for survival. In all this uncertainty, a great marker of history has happened. This marker carries the potential to reshape the geopolitical order of the world. The Muslim identity is getting stronger now. In this era, can Muslim leaders truly unite? Can we be powerful, stand strong together? Have we realized now that we must RISE UP or DIE as slaves?
Well, the treaty signed between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan on September 17, 2025, is a move toward potential unity. According to SMDA, an attack on one country is an attack on the other. Just like NATO, which was signed in 1949 to provide collective defence for Western countries against the growing Soviet threat after World War II, this treaty is also a military alliance aimed at defending its members from potential threats. After the Qatar strike, the Gulf countries are now feeling the urgent need to secure their own lands, relying less on the U.S. for protection. SMDA has highlighted Pakistan as a competent and strong partner in terms of defence, as Pakistan is the only nuclear power in the Muslim world.
Beyond defence, there are signals that the SMDA will also open economic, technological, and investment dimensions.
If SMDA expands to include Gulf countries like Qatar, UAE, and Kuwait, it could become the first-ever Muslim defence bloc, similar to NATO. That would be a historic shift — not just for Pakistan, but for the entire Muslim Ummah.
