Emotional Intelligence is the ability to recognize, comprehend, and regulate one's own emotions, as well as to discern, understand, and influence the emotions of others. An emotionally damaged individual inflicts harm not only upon themselves but also upon those in their vicinity. Lacking the capacity to control and manage their emotions, they inadvertently cause distress to themselves and to others around them. An emotionally damaged person can be likened to a vampire; just as a vampire drains the life force from its victim, an emotionally damaged individual siphons the energy from those they interact with.
Consider a real-life example: a child named Hajra, aged four, whose mother struggles to manage her anger and frequently resorts to screaming or engaging in confrontations in her presence. This behavior instills a similar pattern in Hajra, who begins to emulate her mother's outbursts, ultimately becoming an emotionally damaged individual herself.
An emotionally damaged person harbors grudges, contemplation, and resentment within themselves, disrupting the tranquility and well-being of those around them. When an emotionally damaged individual experiences pain, they are likely to inflict pain upon others. The people in their vicinity inevitably bear the burden of their presence, leading to chaos within their home, friendships, or workplace. Islam teaches the importance of patience and forebearance when dealing with difficult people .The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "The strong person is not the one who can wrestle, but the strong is the one who can control his anger." ( Sahih Bukhari:6114)
