Affan was a much respected man in his circle. He practiced what he called
egolessness. He remained calm during conflicts responding reflectively. He
listened to everyone advised many and spoke little. When others chased
wealth he would said softly I need nothing. He believed in simple living and
no show off.
One day Affan was traveling by train on long journey to meet Sakeena his
wife. She too was respected in her circle. She also practiced egolessness like
her husband Affan.
As train move Affan looked out the window. He saw river flowing around
rocks without complaint. When blocked it simply changed its course. It did
not feel proud of being flexible or humble. Then he saw beautiful mountains
standing tall and still. They don’t think I am high. When storms struck them
they did not claim the capacity to withstand. Then one rock talks with Affan
and says if rain falls I get wet. I don’t say I need nothing. Trees shouted at
Affan and say we bears fruits provides shade but don’t hide it or make show
off. We just give.
Affan realized his ego deceived him wear new mask and simply evolved into
a more elegant shape. Train stopped Affan reached at his destination. He
thought do I need to share this journey with his egoless wife Sakeena. He
knew men and women experience ego differently. Affan decided not to share
as he wanted his wife to discover her own mountains rivers trees and rocks.
The journey of true egolessness cannot be taught or told.
